StormCovers Fabric

  • Unfinished Material:

5 Ft. width is the standard. To that width you add your required length in feet.

  • Finished Storm Covers:

On an exterior window frame mark the location for the four (4) corner grommets and where the fasteners will be installed.

Visualize grommets in the four (4) corners and

Then provide the sewers the two lengths (A to D & B to C) and two widths (A to B & C to D) from, center of grommet to center of grommet. (See Pictures, How To Measure (ABCD, Click Here)

A.        Window set in place showing what 2” x 4” studding may look like around window. It is recommended that fasteners (screws) be affixed for StormCovers into studding where possible.

Picture B:

B.        Window with color dots showing suggested measuring points

a.     Measure Green to Green in inches (A to B on storm cover sample with grommets in place)

b.    Measure Green to Red in inches (A to D on storm cover sample with grommets in place)

c.     If there is any concern that the window is not perfectly rectangular provide the additional measurements for B to C  & C to D when placing order.

C.        Windows of Stucco, Brick, Concrete Block, and Masonry

a.     Two types of installation options. StormCover not showed in pictures. See picture of home with StormCovers in place.

                                     i.      Flush mount – is the nicest looking

ii.      Exterior mount  (over lapping the window set)

1.    Recommended installation

2.    Provides trampoline effect to assist StormCovers in a rejection factor.

3.    Attractive (see “Installation” for ideas of fasteners to use)

 Picture Cb:

b.    On picture shown note treated boards installed for installation of panels or plywood. They do a good job protecting from possible flying objects. But they DO NOT offer good protection from rain.

c.

                                    i.      Did not protect very well from rain.

ii.     Shows an exterior brick windowsill.

iii.    We suggest consideration be given to covering the windowsill also.

iv.    Shows graffiti in the early stage, fun stuff, but indicates a place may not be well maintained or vacant – an invitation to outsiders.
